Pause … take a deep inhalation … and with a smooth exhalation let go of the day, the tensions and frustrations and just be here … just you and your breath.

"Life is possible only because of Prana" (Bernie Clark). In yoga philosophy Prana is described as our 'life force' or our universal energy of existence. There are said to be 5 kinds of energy that we can tap into through our breathing. Prana is the uplifting energy and Apana the downward, rooting energy.

In this Yin workshop we will be giving great attention to utilising our breath to help facilitate relaxation and release as well as harnessing our lifeforce. Bringing breathing to our consciousness it can become a self-help tool, potentially encouraging a greater sense of awareness and control in our lives through each breath.

* A little information will be given regarding the 5 strands of Prana followed by postures to help relax, release and open up areas of tension, particularly around the lower body.

* Postures in Yin Yoga are close to the floor and supported to help one feel a sense of stability.

* Postures are held for 2,3 or 4 minutes which allows one to feel more in each pose, facilitating mobility.

* Yin is; downward and inward, dark and mysterious, moon, earth and water, cold, passive. Finding stillness and discovering depth in each posture requires one to surrender. this is the challenge for you, emotionally, mentally and physically.

*The studio is warm and welcoming with relaxing music to create just the ambience you need to feel a bit of well deserved chill time.
